EliteGroup® (ECS) PT800CE-A motherboard and Windows® 7.

I know there are no Windows® Vista or Windows® 7 drivers released by EliteGroup® for the PT800CE-A motherboard. The actual computer had an Asus A9550 AGP video card and PCtel HSP56 MR (VIA) CNR modem installed so I will include them in this article. Windows® 7 did a good job of installing device drivers for most of the components. The only components that needed a new device driver was the audio system and CNR modem. I found them by searching the Internet but I also included some updated drivers. I have installed every driver listed so I know they work under Windows® 7.

  1. Install Windows® 7
  2. Install Windows® 7 Service Pack 1 - if needed
    My Windows® 7 Ultimate included Service Pack 1
    I would recommend installing Service Pack 1 before installing the drivers
  3. Install IDE Chipset drivers:
    Run Setup found in "pt800ce-a\Chipset INF\Vista - Win7\VIA IDE v2.90A"
  4. Install RAID Chipset drivers:
    Run Setup found in "pt800ce-a\Chipset INF\Vista - Win7\VIA V-RAID v6.10a"
  5. Install ATI Radeon 9550 / X1050 Series display drivers:
    Run Setup found in "Radeon_9550\Vista32-64\10-02_dd_ccc"
    Run Setup found in "Radeon_9550\Vista32-64\10-02_wdm"
  6. Install SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio drivers:
    Run setup found in "pt800ce-a\Audio\Vista32-64"
    During the install you will get a "can't verify publisher" warning, install anyway
  7. Install Network drivers:
    Run WinSetup found in "pt800ce-a\Network\Win7 v1.15A\x86"
  8. Update Driver... for PCtel HSP56 MR (VIA) CNR modem:
    Browse to "pt800ce-a\CNR Modem\VIA\WIN2K_XP"
    During the install you will get a "can't verify publisher" warning, install anyway
EliteGroup® (ECS) CD\DVD burning software.

I did not actually install any CD\DVD software but I see no reason why any current software version would not work.

The Windows Experience Index is only 2.2 because of the graphics component. Aero is working but I did not do much testing.
